I have to say! Not all did this. Balto, for example.
Here’s Balto and his daughter Aleu.
And here’s Balto and his mate Jenna (who’s a husky, not a wolf – Balto and Aleu are wolf/husky mixes but supposed to look like wolfs, so I lett them pass)
And THIS is Balto’s mom:
And while, yeah, one can see that they are designed to be visibly different genders (they are anthropomorphized cartoons, after all! and they need distinctive physical features) it’s absolutely not exagarrated.
It’s more like the lions in The Lion King look moderately different (manes aside) or the horses in Spirit. Which brings me to the fact that high quality animated movies, especially older ones (the ones I mentioned now are Universal, Disney, and Dreamworks, and from the 90s and early 00s) do this sort of thing FAR less than low budget animated movies or even the secondary movies from major studios.
Sorry, I just had to bump in because I love Balto so much and think the designs are very, very good. That is all.
A snake Instagram account I follow posted a photo of their snake wrapped around its light cage, and I was like “imagine CROWLEY wrapped around a LAMP”, but then @hope-inthedark raised me “AZIRAPHALE’S HALO” and…well. Then we got this.
you’re telling me there are people who listen to music and DON’T use it as the soundtrack for the intense cinematic daydream plot they’ve always got playing in the back of their head???
Hey, I'm Wally! I mainly post things I like, funny things, or things I'm stupid thirsty about. I'm pretty bad about tagging so if you need me to tag something, please tell me.
Art tag is "Wally Art"
If you like cats, just look at the "ricecake" tag. It's a very long story.
